In Gila National Forest
In Gila National Forest, this is a spacious clearing off the side of a fairly technical four-wheel drive route that ultimately dead-ends due to a width restriction. Due to remote location and difficult access, it is fairly private. Encountered a couple of Continental Divide through-hikers and that was all. Sufficient room for multiple overland vehicles. Fire ring present, but infrequently used. Recommended. Very good cell service.

Snow, and when this opens
The nearest automatic snow station is Signal Peak at 8,390 ft, about 10 miles away. It sits about 1,770 ft higher than this camp, so treat it as a guide rather than a reading for this spot. We do not repeat a depth here, because any number we stored would be stale by the time you read it — the station publishes today's.
How we know this
What we don’t know
A land record can put you within a few metres of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.
- How many rigs actually fit
- Seasonal & winter access
- Current fire restrictions
- Whether any water here is drinkable
- Shade & wind exposure
- Noise and who else shows up
