First come, first served only -- BLM says you must physically arrive to claim and purchase a site, paying by QR code in the Recreation.gov mobile app (download it BEFORE you go; limited or no cell service). Open mid-May through end of September, depending on snowfall. 19 accessible campsites -- six pull-through, eleven back-in, two walk-in -- with fire rings, toilets, trash cans. Renovated 2021. Alaska state statute prohibits off-road vehicle use within five miles either side of the highway from the Yukon River to the Arctic Ocean.
