Designated primitive camping area on Atchafalaya Delta WMA, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. LDWF's own page for this WMA (https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/page/atchafalaya-delta, read 2026-08-15) states under its Camping heading: "Atchafalaya Delta WMA has two campgrounds with primitive restrooms." BOAT ACCESS -- Atchafalaya Delta WMA is a river-delta WMA at the mouth of the Atchafalaya and is reached by boat, not by road; do not publish this as a drive-in site. LDWF says the WMA has TWO campgrounds and only ONE was locatable this fire. The 2026-2027 regulations add for this WMA: 'Camping and houseboat mooring allowed ONLY in designated campgrounds. Houseboat mooring allowed by permit only in designated areas, during hunting season' -- Atchafalaya Delta houseboat permits are by annual lottery or five-year bid lease through the LDWF Lafayette Field Office.
