The City of Stromsburg official site https://www.stromsburgnebraska.com/buckley-park (read 2026-08-18) has a page titled "Buckley Park Campground" that states: "One of the most popular camping sites on Nebraska's Highway 81 is Buckley Park Campground located in Stromsburg, Nebraska. Buckley Park is nestled between the confluence of the historic Big Blue River and Prairie Creek. The campground is located on the north side of the park, along Prairie Creek. Large trees provide shade for campers. There are twelve electrical pedestals which include eight 50-amp outlets, eleven 30-amp outlets, and eleven 20-amp outlets. There are also four water hydrants and a sewer dump station. Camping is available. Check with the City Office Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Campground Policy. Donations are accepted to help defray expenses." There is also a covered pavilion in the campground and a primitive tent camping area at creek-bank level west of the pavilion. CORRECTIONS APPLIED THIS FIRE: the old note said "not confirmed federal - check" -- it is not federal at all, it is a CITY campground, so land_manager is set to City of Stromsburg. dispersed was 1 and is set to 0: this is a developed campground with electrical pedestals, water hydrants and a dump station. The name is corrected from the OSM misspelling "Buckly Park Free Campgrounds" to the city's own "Buckley Park Campground (Stromsburg)". fee stays 0 because the city states donations rather than a posted nightly rate -- publish it as donation-requested, not as "free with no strings". COORDINATE CAVEAT: 41.108564,-97.599340 is OSM node/1277217608 (re-queried via Overpass 2026-08-18, still the only tourism=camp_site in the area) and is a park-level point; the city says the camping loop is on the NORTH side of the park along Prairie Creek, so the point may not sit on the loop itself. Do NOT claim the water hydrants are potable without confirming with the City Office.
