IDNR defines Class D as "Tent camping or primitive sites (walk-in or backpack) with no vehicular access". The park's public camping page describes only "241 Class A and B sites" and does not mention a primitive area, which is why this is medium and not high. "Only campers with permits are allowed in the campground"; admittance prohibited 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; showers/flush toilets operate May 1 - Oct 31 only. Overlooks the Mississippi above Savanna.
