Osmond City Park (Poolside Park)

Drive-up · public land · NE · 42.35708, -97.60023
We haven't personally camped here. Everything below is pulled from public land data, USGS maps and OpenStreetMap — a real place on public land, but not field-checked by us. Confirm road conditions, current access, stay limits and fire restrictions before you go.

Osmond is a town of about 700 in northeast Nebraska, one block off Highway 20, and its city park has five camping sites with 30- and 50-amp electric and water hookups, plus a dump station near the sites. The city's own recreation page asks for a suggested donation of $10 a night -- suggested, not required, which is why we list it as free, but the honest thing is to pay it if you can. Three of the pads are about 46 by 9 feet and two are about 50 by 9. The camping is at the park by the municipal pool, and the park also has picnic shelters, tennis courts and a playground. Honest caveats: the city page does not state a stay limit, so do not assume you can settle in -- ask at city hall if you want more than a night or two. Listings mention restrooms and showers; we could not confirm those on the city's own page. The deal these towns offer is simple: camp free, and they hope you buy fuel, groceries or dinner in town. Be a good guest and it stays free for the next traveler. Town rules change often and we have not visited -- confirm current rules with the town before you go.

How we know this

Source
municipal park records
Confidence
Researched — The record is detailed and internally consistent, and the coordinates land where the managing agency says this site is.
How it was placed
Coordinates: OSM way 737699358 'Osmond City Park', leisure=park; pin verified INSIDE the way by point-in-polygon test against node geometry from api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/way/737699358/full.json, 2026-07-20. Camping rules: City of Osmond OFFICIAL page https://cityofosmondne.org/recreation/ , fetched 2026-07-20, which lists '5 sites', '30 & 50 amp hookup', 'Water hookup', 'Dump station near sites' and a 'Suggested donation of $10/night'. SUGGESTED donation, not a mandatory fee -> fee=0, but the note says so plainly. The city page states no stay limit. Not visited. Verified 2026-07-20.
Field check
Not verified on the ground. Nobody from here has camped it. It stays at Researched until someone does.

What we don’t know

A land record can put you within a few metres of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.

Before you go

Been here? Tell us what changed. This page is built from public records, so the fastest way it gets better is somebody who has actually pulled in. Road washed out, site gone, gate locked, or it is exactly as described — all of it useful. Send a report →
