Page City Park -- free tent area (Page)

Drive-up · public land · ND · 47.15320, -97.57176
We haven't personally camped here. Everything below is pulled from public land data, USGS maps and OpenStreetMap — a real place on public land, but not field-checked by us. Confirm road conditions, current access, stay limits and fire restrictions before you go.

Read this one carefully, because only half of it is free. Page is a small Cass County town off I-94 northwest of Fargo, and the state tourism listing for its city park says 'Free tent camping in City Park - overnight only.' That is the free offer: a TENT, for ONE night. The park's eight RV sites with water, sewer and electricity are a PAID campground with daily and weekly rates -- if you pull in with a trailer and plug into a post, you are in the pay side, not the free side. There are no showers. Because the free tier is tent-only and overnight-only, this is a one-night stop for a cyclist or a tent camper, not a basecamp. The deal these towns offer is simple: camp free, and they hope you buy fuel, groceries or dinner in town. Call (701) 668-2226 to confirm the free tent area still stands and where to pitch. Town rules change often and we have not visited -- confirm current rules with the city before you go.

How we know this

Source
municipal park records
Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
FREE FOR TENTS ONLY per ndtourism.com (Page City Park Campground and RV Park), quoted: 'Free tent camping in City Park - overnight only.' The SAME listing prices the RV side: '8 RV sites with water, sewer and electricity - daily and weekly rates.' 104 Morton Ave., Page ND 58064, (701) 668-2226. Confidence 'med': state tourism listing, not the city's own page, and the free tier is narrow. Coordinates: OSM node/7639005011 'Page City Park Campground', which independently carries fee=no. Verified 2026-07-20.
Field check
Not verified on the ground. Nobody from here has camped it. It stays at Likely until someone does.

What we don’t know

A land record can put you within a few metres of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.

Before you go

Been here? Tell us what changed. This page is built from public records, so the fastest way it gets better is somebody who has actually pulled in. Road washed out, site gone, gate locked, or it is exactly as described — all of it useful. Send a report →
