The land manager lists this site. Someone from the agency inventoried it, so it is a real camp — not a spot we guessed at. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
NPS Natchez Trace Parkway bicycle-only campground, nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/bicycle-only-campgrounds.htm read 2026-08-13: tent sites, picnic tables and fire grates; no showers, no electricity. 'Water is available throughout the year inside Parkway restrooms; outside water sources may be unavailable during winter months.' FEE CAVEAT -- the explicit 'free' sentence on nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/camping.htm covers 'the three Parkway campgrounds' (Rocky Springs, Jeff Busby, Meriwether Lewis). The bicycle-only page states NO fee and NPS lists no charge for these sites, but I could not find a first-party sentence saying the bicycle-only campgrounds are free. fee=0 is an inference from the absence of a published fee -- CONFIRM WITH THE PARK BEFORE PUBLISHING. Bicycle-only: not usable by car or RV campers. THIS SITE: milepost 266, at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Coordinate = OpenStreetMap node/7885560370 'Natchez Trace NP - Tupelo Bicycle CG', tagged backcountry=yes and fee='free for cyclitst' [sic] -- that OSM fee tag is a mapper's note, NOT an NPS statement, and is not what fee=0 rests on. NOT an NPS-published coordinate. Nearest town: Saltillo ~3.5 mi. 'Nearest town' is STRAIGHT-LINE distance to the nearest OpenStreetMap place=city/town/village and is NOT a driving distance. Ingest 2026-08-13. --- NIGHT SHIFT REVIEW 2026-08-18 (reviewer=nightshift-verified) --- https://www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/bicycle-only-campgrounds.htm re-read 2026-08-18. It still lists "Milepost 266" for this campground, so the milepost that anchors this row's coordinate cross-check is unchanged. The page still says the bicycle-only campgrounds "provide primitive camping for visitors who are biking the Natchez Trace Parkway" and "There are no showers or electricity at any of the campgrounds." THE FEE CAVEAT ABOVE IS NOW RESOLVED, in our favour. https://www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/fees.htm read 2026-08-18 states verbatim: "The Natchez Trace Parkway is free and does not charge an entrance fee, or campground fees." That is a first-party NPS sentence about Parkway campground fees, not an inference from silence, and it is exactly the sentence the note above said it could not find. fee=0 is now sourced. RESTRICTION, unchanged and important: these are BICYCLE-ONLY campgrounds. They are not usable by a car, van or RV camper, and that has to be the first thing a reader sees, not a footnote. The coordinate is still an OpenStreetMap node matched on the NPS milepost, NOT an NPS-published coordinate. DUPLICATE CHECK: every pending Mississippi row was compared BY COORDINATE (haversine, never by name) against all published and 'later' Mississippi camps. This row has no published camp within 1500 m and no other pending row within 120 m. VERDICT: HOLDS UP for what it is -- a genuinely free NPS campground, restricted to cyclists.
