A primitive clearing on the shore of Tatya River, in Dyea, Alaska, not far from Skagway. Just off of blacktop, but tucked away in the trees. A fire ring is here, and enough room for two or three vehicles. Tourists on rafting tours float by during the day. Pleasant setting. Other van-dwellers might pop in and out, but generally quiet. No cell service. Recommended.

- Surface water mapped nearby: Taiya River (river). That is wash water at best, and nobody has checked it for you — a creek can be dry and a tank can be mud. Filter or boil anything you drink. USGS maps no named surface water within 1 mi of the pin (National Hydrography Dataset, data refreshed October 2022).
