It is a park, not a campground: there are more than twenty covered picnic tables with charcoal grills under ramadas, drinking water and a trash dumpster, but NO hookups and no showers, so come self-contained. Recent camper reviews through 2024-2026 confirm it is still open and still free. Honest caveats: it is a bare desert lot, it can be windy and dusty, and being an interstate town the overnight policy could change -- there is no City of Lordsburg page confirming it, so the free status rests on consistent recent camper reports; confirm locally if you can. The deal these towns offer is simple: camp free, and they hope you buy fuel, groceries or dinner in town. Be a good guest and it stays free for the next traveler.
