How it was placed
Roughly 200 family campsites plus group areas and youth group sites on White Lake in Tamworth, on the southern edge of the White Mountains. Campground opens full-time 5/15 (Area 1 only), fall primitive 10/12, last date 10/24. Rate: statewide table (no per-park rate published). Note the park page's warning that overnight parking and camping are not permitted outside the campground. DESIGNATED SITES ONLY: NH Code of Administrative Rules Res 7302.02(a) (read 2026-08-16 at gc.nh.gov/rules/state_agencies/res7300.html) says "No person shall camp on DRED properties except in designated campsites." There is no dispersed camping on a New Hampshire state park or state forest. STAY LIMIT: Res 7302.03(d) -- "Camping permits shall have a maximum duration of 14 consecutive days at all campgrounds unless extended pursuant to paragraph (e)."
