How it was placed
https://www.blm.gov/visit/wickersham-creek-trail-shelter (read 2026-08-17). Fees field reads "No fee" and the body says the shelter "is first come-first serve and is free of charge." An 8 ft x 10 ft log building built in 1975 by the Youth Conservation Corps and BLM; sleeps two, with a woodstove, cook counter, cook stove and one bunk bed. Eleven trail miles from the Wickersham Dome Trailhead at Elliott Highway milepost 28, at the junction of the Wickersham Creek and Moose Creek trails. BLM says access is MAINLY IN WINTER and the route is not suitable for summer hiking.
