New York provides it at NO CHARGE: the DEC Bog River Complex page lists the unit as 'Fee: Free' and 'Open for Recreation: Year-round', and DEC's own site record marks this a 'Designated Campsite'. It is a first-come, first-served designated site (tents only, marked with a yellow 'Camp Here' disc) with a fire ring and a pit privy (installed 2023). A free Forest-Ranger permit is required only for stays over 3 nights or groups of 10 or more -- otherwise just show up. There are no hookups and no potable water: bring or treat all water, pack out all trash, follow Leave No Trace and DEC fire rules, and store food from bears.
