The land manager lists this site. Someone from the agency inventoried it, so it is a real camp — not a spot we guessed at. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Harrison is the last town in Nebraska's northwest corner -- county seat of Sioux County, about 250 people, sitting high on the Pine Ridge at around 4,800 feet on Highway 20, and it is the natural base for the Agate Fossil Beds National Monument and the Pine Ridge country. The city park has three overnight parking spaces with electric hookups and water, restrooms nearby, on a free-will-donation basis with a donation box on site, and stays are limited to three days. Only three spaces means it can fill in summer, and it is first-come first-served, so have a backup. Honest caveats: this comes from the regional Discover Northwest Nebraska tourism site rather than from the town itself, which is small enough not to have a camping page, so confirm at the village office before you rely on it. This is genuinely high, exposed country -- nights are cold well into summer and the wind is real. The deal these towns offer is simple: camp free, and they hope you buy fuel, groceries or dinner in town. Be a good guest and it stays free for the next traveler. Town rules change often and we have not visited -- confirm current rules with the town before you go.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
Coordinates: OSM way 891355354 'Harrison City Park', leisure=park; pin verified INSIDE the way by point-in-polygon test against node geometry from api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/way/891355354/full.json, 2026-07-20. NOTE a near-name trap avoided: OSM also has an unrelated 'Harrison Park' (node 357756584) at 40.86,-97.60 in eastern NE and 'Harrison Heights/Hills Park' in the Omaha suburbs; this is the Sioux County one at 42.69,-103.89. Camping rules: Discover Northwest Nebraska regional tourism site https://discovernwnebraska.com/campgrounds/ , fetched 2026-07-20: '3 overnight parking spaces with electric hookup and water', 'free will donation. Donation box on site.', 'Stays up to 3 days.' This is a regional tourism source, NOT the town's own page (Harrison, pop. ~250, has no camping page we could find) -> confidence='med'. Not visited.
