Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
Two campgrounds plus remote sites: the state publishes a "Monadnock HQ Campground" map, a "Gilson Pond Campground" map and a separate "Gilson Pond Remote Campground" map. This pin is the state's park point at 169 Poole Road, which is the HQ end; Gilson Pond is a separate area within the park. Day use is $15 per vehicle (6 occupants) plus $1 to reserve, and the park turns visitors away when full -- "Visitors without reservations will be turned away when Park is full." Gilson Pond closes for winter. Rate: statewide table (no per-park rate published). SOURCE: https://www.nhstateparks.org/find-parks-trails/monadnock-state-park (read 2026-08-16). NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE PARK CAMPING -- THE RULES THAT APPLY HERE. DESIGNATED SITES ONLY: NH Code of Administrative Rules Res 7302.02(a) (read 2026-08-16 at gc.nh.gov/rules/state_agencies/res7300.html) says "No person shall camp on DRED properties except in designated campsites." There is no dispersed camping on a New Hampshire state park or state forest. STAY LIMIT: Res 7302.03(d) -- "Camping permits shall have a maximum duration of 14 consecutive days at all campgrounds unless extended pursuant to paragraph (e)." TRAIL SHELTERS: Res 7302.02(g) -- overnight stays at Cohos Trail shelters in Nash Stream state forest, at Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway shelters in Max Israel state forest and Pillsbury state park, "and other remote locations where overnight stays are permitted shall have a maximum duration of 2 consecutive nights." FEES (statewide table at https://www.nhstateparks.org/fees-reservations/camping-rates-reservations, read 2026-08-16): primitive campsite $29, standard $35, platform $35, lean-to $40, waterfront $40, water+electric (20/30) $45, plus a $7 reservation fee. NH residents 65+ get $5 off per site per night except holidays. Reservations are through ReserveAmerica / 1-877-NHPARKS. COORDINATE PROVENANCE: lat/lon is the state's OWN published park point from https://www.nhstateparks.org/App/Services/ParkList.asmx/GetParks?type=5a3cf536-dbcd-455d-8700-a21a499cd8b3 (read 2026-08-16). It is a park point, not a surveyed campground-loop point. | auto:agency-trust 2026-08-18: state agency GIS record with a source URL and coordinates, confidence not low. Fee value is the agency's own, not field-checked. Not field-verified -- confirm access, road conditions and fire rules before you go.

What we don’t know about Monadnock State Park (HQ and Gilson Pond campgrounds)
A land record can put you within a few meters of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.
- Road surface & last-mile access
- How many rigs actually fit
- Cell coverage by carrier
- Seasonal & winter access
- Current fire restrictions
- Whether any water here is drinkable
- Shade & wind exposure
- Noise and who else shows up
- Whether a listed EV charger works today, or the road miles to it
