U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Snow, and when this opens

The nearest automatic snow station is Temple Fork at 7,420 ft, about 8 miles away. It sits about 2,370 ft higher than this camp, so treat it as a guide rather than a reading for this spot. We do not repeat a depth here, because any number we stored would be stale by the time you read it — the station publishes today's.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | auto:usfs-fee 2026-08-20: US Forest Service developed campground, agency coordinates, agency states a fee. No dollar amount in the agency record -- expect a charge and confirm the current rate before you go. Not field-verified. | Fee 2026-08-22: no CURRENT rate published by the agency, in either channel. The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache page says only "For current pricing and availability visit Recreation.gov" and prints no amount (last updated June 6, 2025). The recreation.gov listing it points at, 232055 "GUINAVAH", advertises no starting price and publishes no 2026 season at all -- its rate table stops dead after a 2021 season block. That five-year-old block reads $26.06 for a single or tent-only site and $161.77 for the group standard area, and it is recorded here only so the next reader knows what was found and how stale it is; it is NOT quoted as today's price and should not be budgeted from. Checked: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232055 and https://www.fs.usda.gov/r04/uinta-wasatch-cache/recreation/guinavah-malibu-campground .
