U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | auto:usfs-fee 2026-08-20: US Forest Service developed campground, agency coordinates, agency states a fee. No dollar amount in the agency record -- expect a charge and confirm the current rate before you go. Not field-verified. | Fee 2026-08-31: $45 per night for a single site, and this one is not a plain Forest Service campground: Lost Lake is run as a resort concession and the Mt. Hood NF page prints the resort's whole price list. Single site $45; F Loop tent-only $50; self-contained vehicles, all sizes, $50; H Loop $45 ($50 with an RV); group sites $78 for 9 people, $93 for 12; extra vehicle $20; extra RV $32. Day use is quoted twice on the same page and contradicts itself -- $16 per vehicle day park permit ($17 with the lower kiosk open) in the fee list, $15 per vehicle per day in the narrative. That narrative also warns that camping fees vary by amenity and sends you to Lost Lake Resort's own site, so treat $45 as the floor for a standard site. A recreation.gov listing (251434) for LOST LAKE RESORT AND CAMPGROUND exists but publishes coordinates 0.87 mi from our pin, past our 0.5 mi check, so its rates are not quoted here. On the agency's books. The land manager inventoried this site, so its existence is not in question — current conditions are. Nobody from here has camped it recently.

What we don’t know about Lost Lake

A land record can put you within a few meters of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.
