Ask about this camp →U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | auto:usfs-fee 2026-08-20: US Forest Service developed campground, agency coordinates, agency states a fee. No dollar amount in the agency record -- expect a charge and confirm the current rate before you go. Not field-verified. | Fee 2026-08-22: $15 per single campsite per day, maximum 2 vehicles -- but THE PAGE CONTRADICTS ITSELF and the forest does not say which line governs. Its fee block reads 'No fees are required for this site' and the very next line reads '$15/single campsite per day with a maximum of 2 vehicles.' Both are Modoc's own words, so the fee flag is left set and $15 is recorded as the only amount published. Modoc prints the identical contradictory block on its separate Pepperdine Campground page, and BOTH pages print the same coordinates (41.45028, -120.24083), which land 0.57 mi from this pin and closer to the agency's other site 'PEPPERDINE' than to this one -- the forest is not distinguishing the two camps. 12ft by 12ft metal corrals; usually open early July to late October. What we don’t know about Pepperdine Equestrian Cg
A land record can put you within a few meters of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.

- Seasonal & winter access
- Current fire restrictions
- Whether any water here is drinkable
