U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Confidence
Agency-confirmed — The managing agency's own record names this as a campsite and puts it at these coordinates. About as good as it gets short of standing here.
How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | nightshift-verified 2026-08-18: PROMOTED later -> approved. The old note said only "Developed FEE campground (not free) - review" with no source. Sourced today from the Forest Service itself: the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands camping index https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/nebraska/recreation/camping-cabins and the site page https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/nebraska/recreation/roberts-tract-camping-area-trailhead. Listed "Site Open", open year-round. 3 tent sites with tables and fire rings, plus one site in the parking area with a table and fire ring sized for horse trailers or campers; horse corrals, rider ramp and stock water (weather permitting). Overnight Use: Single Site $15/night including one vehicle, additional vehicle $7.50/night, pay onsite. Roberts Loop Trail begins at the campground: Pine Ridge National Recreation Area 0.5 mi, Pine Ridge Trail 2 mi, Coffee Mill Trailhead 8.2 mi, East Ash Trailhead 10.1 mi. Non-motorized travel only within the Pine Ridge NRA. FS page last updated 2026-06-30. FS-published coordinate 42.67861111,-103.1511111 matches our stored point to ~1 m. WATER: The Forest Service states "Potable water is not available at this site." The stock water is for livestock and is weather-dependent; treat it as NOT potable.
Season
Read from the agency's own season / closure text in this record (data/conditions.py) and checked against the calendar. The words we read are printed under the verdict at the top of the page.
EV chargers

Field check
On the agency's books. The land manager inventoried this site, so its existence is not in question — current conditions are. Nobody from here has camped it recently.
