How it was placed
FREE BLM stock/large-rig campground inside the Scab Creek Recreation Area, Wind River Range. FEE, BLM's own Fees field: "Non-Fee Area". STAY LIMIT: BLM's own field, "14 Days". BLM's description: "The Large Vehicle Campground located within Scab Creek Recreation Area provides 7 campsites for those wishing to camp with packs stock, trailers, large RV's or campers. There are corrals provided in the campground for pack stock. Vault toilette and potable water can be found up the road at the pack stock staging area, also within the Scab Creek Recreation Area." [sic] So the toilet and the water are NOT in this campground -- they are up the road. ACCESS: from Pinedale, US 191 south 12 mi, WY 353 east 7 mi, Scab Creek Road/CR-122 1.45 mi, then Scab Creek Access Road/BLM 5423 roughly 5.5 mi; BLM says "The Large Vehicle Campground will be the first" you reach. Coordinate is BLM's own published facility point from gis.blm.gov/arcgis/rest/services/recreation/BLM_Natl_Recreation_Sites_Facilities (read 2026-08-17), cross-checked against the Geographic Coordinates printed on the site's own blm.gov page. The Fees section still reads "Non-Fee Area", the Stay Limit field still reads "14 Days", and the description still says "provides 7 campsites for those wishing to camp with packs stock, trailers, large RV's or campers... Vault toilette and potable water can be found up the road at the pack stock staging area." [sic] BLM's printed Geographic Coordinates are still 42.818212, -109.562713, matching this row to the digit. Cross-checked the same day against gis.blm.gov/arcgis/rest/services/recreation/BLM_Natl_Recreation_Sites_Facilities (layer 8, BLM Natl RIDB Facilities Camping). Same naming note as its small-vehicle twin: BLM's own page title is the bare "Large Vehicle Campground". Nothing this row claims has changed since it was written.
