The land manager lists this site. Someone from the agency inventoried it, so it is a real camp — not a spot we guessed at. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

Confidence
Likely — The record is good enough to put a pin on, but thin in places. Treat the details as a starting point, not gospel.
How it was placed
FREE primitive camping in Great Basin National Park, along Snake Creek Road. NPS primitive-campgrounds page (read 2026-08-17), verbatim: "These sites are all first-come, first-served and are free of charge." There are 12 campsites; several are walk-in and "Tents must be placed within 30 feet of the site's picnic table(s) and/or fire ring(s)." ROAD: "High clearance vehicles are recommended for these rough, dirt roads. RVs and trailers are never recommended." SEASONAL: "Snake Creek may be closed due to snow in winter months, check our current conditions page for up-to-date infomation." [sic] STAY LIMIT: "The maximum continuous stay limit at any campsite is 14 days" (nps.gov/grba/planyourvisit/primitive-campgrounds.htm and nps.gov/grba/planyourvisit/backcountry-camping.htm, read 2026-08-17). SEASONAL: the park says "Some campgrounds are closed seasonally due to weather" -- check nps.gov/grba current conditions before driving. WATER: the park's campgrounds page says of Snake Creek "No potable water is available." No entrance fee is charged to enter Great Basin NP. NEAREST TOWN: Baker, NV. Coordinate is the NPS Public POIs pin for the Snake Creek primitive campgrounds -- the 12 sites are strung along the road, so this pin is the corridor, not one site. SOURCE: https://www.nps.gov/grba/planyourvisit/primitive-campgrounds.htm | auto:agency-trust 2026-08-18: state agency GIS record with a source URL and coordinates, confidence not low. Fee value is the agency's own, not field-checked. Not field-verified -- confirm access, road conditions and fire rules before you go.
