How it was placed
FREE BLM campground on the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway. FEE, BLM's own Fees section: "No Fee." The description repeats it: "There no fees associated with this campground and also no water is available at this campground. Campsites are first come, first served." [sic] SITES: "It has four camping sites, a vault toilet and fire rings. It is partially accessible." Only four sites -- have a fallback. ACCESS: "From Arminto, take the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway north for 13.5 miles to Bighorn Mountain Road. Turn left and go 9.5 miles north to the campground on the left." NEAREST TOWN: Arminto, WY, about 24 miles south (BLM's own figure). BLM's standard stay limit on Wyoming public land is 14 days; where BLM states it on the site's own page it is quoted below. BLM does not print a stay limit on this particular page. Managed by Casper Field Office, 307-261-7600. Coordinate is BLM's own published facility point from gis.blm.gov/arcgis/rest/services/recreation/BLM_Natl_Recreation_Sites_Facilities (read 2026-08-17), cross-checked against the Geographic Coordinates printed on the site's own blm.gov page.
