Ask about this camp →U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | auto:usfs-fee 2026-08-20: US Forest Service developed campground, agency coordinates, agency states a fee. No dollar amount in the agency record -- expect a charge and confirm the current rate before you go. Not field-verified. | Fee 2026-08-27: this is a GROUP-ONLY site and the agency publishes no single-site rate for it: $89 per night for 1-50 people, $185 per night for 51 up to the maximum. Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age and Golden Access passes get cardholders half price on basic campground fees. Reservable, season May 1 to Nov 8, and the forest describes the parking as a loop that will hold several vehicles. Confirmed by two sources: the Arapaho-Roosevelt NF page (updated Aug 11 2026) and the forest-wide Campground Status table (updated Aug 24 2026), which prints the same $89/$185 split. REJECTED LINK: the recreation.gov id in the agency record, facility 233845, is 'CROW VALLEY' -- a different facility 0.322 mi away whose rates ($17 and $25 singles, $77 group) are Crow Valley's and are NOT this site's. Do not quote them here. Pawnee National Grassland. Source: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/arp/recreation/steward-j-adams-education-site and https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/arp/conditions.

What we don’t know about Steward J. Adams Education Site

- Seasonal & winter access
