Ask about this camp →U.S. Forest Service lists this as a developed campground. Expect marked sites, a fee station or a reservation, and the usual campground rules. The dispersed-camping freedom of the surrounding forest does not apply inside it. What changes is conditions — roads, gates, closures, fire rules. Check those with the unit before you commit to the drive.

How it was placed
Developed FEE campground (not free) - review | auto:usfs-fee 2026-08-20: US Forest Service developed campground, agency coordinates, agency states a fee. No dollar amount in the agency record -- expect a charge and confirm the current rate before you go. Not field-verified. | Fee 2026-08-22: $16 per night for a tent or single site is the forest's figure, and the hookup loops cost more -- but the two agency channels disagree by $2 on every hookup tier, so budget the higher one. The forest page says $34 per night for a site with electric and water in Loops B and C, $44 for electric, water and sewer in Loop A, and $100 for the group site; recreation.gov's 2026 peak season (May 15 to Sep 30) charges $36 for B and C, $46 for Loop A, $80 for a Loop A double and $120 for the group site. recreation.gov publishes no tent-only tier, so the $16 is the forest's own number and unconfirmed by the second channel. Extra vehicles are $6 per vehicle per day, overflow is $10, day use is $6 per vehicle per day, and the RV dump station is $10 per use in the fee box (the prose on the same page says $6 for the dump station -- another self-contradiction on this page). What we don’t know about Union Creek Campground
A land record can put you within a few meters of a spot. It cannot tell you any of this — so check it yourself, and treat anything below as the open question it is.
- Road surface & last-mile access
- How many rigs actually fit

- Seasonal & winter access
- Current fire restrictions
- Whether any water here is drinkable
- Shade & wind exposure
- Noise and who else shows up
- Whether a listed EV charger works today, or the road miles to it
